This shot was taken in almost total darkness. The only light I could see was to the left coming from the street lamp and the soft orange lingering from the sunset. This is on a side road that parallels the 101 freeway about 2 miles from Calabasas Ca. See tha large one on Flickr http://goo.gl/7gcyb.

Mr. Blue Sky Painting
Got some great news. My photo is being painted. My Drum teacher (Steve Roth | www.drumset4u.com) has a daughter who is a painter. She saw my photo and is in process of creating a painting of it. I’ll post an image of the painting once she is done.
San Gabriel Sunset
I went to a beer tasting event at the Stuffed Sandwich (link) in San Gabriel and snapped this on my way home. (more here). The tasting was an event put on by a home brewing club named The Maltese Falcons (link). The Falcons lay claim to being the oldest home brewing club in America. On a whim, weeks before the tasting, I attended one of their meetings. It was in the back of The Home Beer, Wine, Cheesemaking Shop. Just a bunch of guys and gals that are interested and very knowledgable in home brewing. I’d like to run a micro brew once I retire. I sampled some of the members home brews and was very impressed. They told me about the tasting event and said it was one of those “must do” events.
Golden Hour
In a pinch, I used my sunglasses as a filter to get these golden tones. I really like taking shots along California’s Coastline. This particular day I was gifted with some spectacular clouds.
In photography, the golden hour (sometimes known as magic hour, especially in cinematography) is the first and last hour of sunlight during the day,[1] when a specific photographic effect is achieved due to the quality of the light.
Downtown Rush Hour
I was standing on the bridge in Downtown Los Angeles at 5th and Figueroa just after sunrise. This is a composite of three bracketed images that I processed in Photomatics. Though not perfect (I’m still learning to learn photography), I thought it came out well.
Nextdoor Sunset
Shot across the street of my neighbors house around sunset time. I didn’t do much with the colors, just cropped and darkened it a bit. It was too bad that the car was parked in front of the house else it would have been a much better photo.
Ventura Power Station
While on vacation in Ventura Ca. in 09′ I wen’t on a bit of an excursion one night. About a mile or two from where we were staying was this power plant right next to the coast. I must have snapped 200 shots using different settings and whatnot. This was the result of 3 images merged and the colors tweaked a bit.
